The City Council will consider the following item at the December 19, 2017 meeting:

The City of Lufkin is considering the Second Reading of an Ordinance for the annexation of an area described as lying within the eastern area of the City’s Extraterritorial Jurisdiction including a portion of East Lufkin Avenue, and including property identified as ABS 0453 Massingill WM., Tract 17, Acres .45, ABS 0453 Massingill WM., Tract 18, Acres .81, and ABS 0453 Massingill WM., Tract 19, Acres 1.13 (less the northern portion of approximately .55 acres). A map of the area is available from the City of Lufkin Planning Office in Room 221 of the City Hall building.

The item will be heard in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 300 East Shepherd Avenue by the City Council on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 5:00 PM.


A tax rate of $0.531135 per $100 valuation has been proposed for adoption by the governing body of CITY OF LUFKIN.

PROPOSED TAX RATE $0.531135 per $100 PRECEDING YEAR'S TAX RATE $0.529942 per $100 EFFECTIVE TAX RATE $0.531135 per $100 The effective tax rate is the total tax rate needed to raise the same amount of property tax revenue for CITY OF LUFKIN from the same properties in both the 2016 tax year and the 2017 tax year.
